Displaying a beautiful beadwork band across the back of the hand, these dark brown leather mittens are named for Monte Fitz Roy (also known as Cerro Chalten). Mount Fitz Roy is a mountain located near El Chalten village, in th eSouthern Patagonian Ice Field in Patagonia, on the border between Argentina and Chile.  First climbed in 1952 by French alpinists Lionel Terray and Guido Magnone, it remains among the most technically challenging mounatins on earth for mountaineers.

Astis leather mittens are hand-sewn in the USA from dark brown high-quality suede leather with hand-stitched beadwork and are lined with Polartec® High Loft insulation. Working directly with a tannery in the USA, we developed a suede leather, injected with silicone during the tanning process for further waterproofing, that is extremely durable yet retains great dexterity.

As each leather glove and mitten is hand-sewn and uses natural materials, each leather mitten will possess slight variation in the look of the leather and beadwork. Astis embraces these subtle differences and views them as unique gloves more akin to works of art.
