Displaying a gorgeous blue and white beadwork band across the wrist, these tan leather mittens are named for an active stratovolcano on the east coast of Sicily, Mount Etna. Mount Etna is the the tallest active volcano in Europe at 10,922 feet high, though this varies with the summit eruptions. It is one of the most active volcanoes in the world and is in an almost constant state of activity.
Astis leather mittens are hand-sewn in the USA from tan high-quality suede leather with hand-stitched beadwork on the wrist and are lined with Polartec® Thermal Pro® High Loft insulation. Working directly with a tannery in the USA, we developed a suede leather, injected with silicone during the tanning process for further waterproofing, that is extremely durable yet retains great dexterity.
As each leather mitten is hand-sewn and uses natural materials, each leather mitten will possess slight variation in the look of the leather, beadwork, and fur trim. Astis embraces these subtle differences and views them as unique mittens more akin to works of art.
- Note that the short cuff mittens run a little smaller and narrower than the long cuff mittens
