Displaying a green, tan, brown and black camouflage beadwork band across the hand, these dark brown leather gloves are named for Mount Huntington. A striking rock and ice pyramid in the central Alaska Range, Mount Huntington is located about 8 miles southeast of Denali. Huntington is a steep peak in almost every direction with faces that drop over 5,000 feet. It was first climbed in 1964 by famed alpinist Lionel Terray.
Astis leather gloves are hand-sewn in the USA from dark brown high-quality suede leather with hand-stitched beadwork on the wrist and are lined with Polartec® Thermal Pro® High Loft insulation. Working directly with a tannery in the USA, we developed a suede leather, injected with silicone during the tanning process for further waterproofing, that is extremely durable yet retains great dexterity.
As each leather glove is hand-sewn and uses natural materials, each leather mitten will possess slight variation in the look of the leather and beadwork. Astis embraces these subtle differences and views them as unique gloves more akin to works of art.
