Displaying a gorgeous beadwork band across the wrist, these brown leather mittens are named for Mount Eolus. Mount Eolus is a fourteener (14,090 feet) located in the Needle Mountains range of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. Northeast of the City of Durango, Eolus is among the most remote of Colorado's fourteeners and have a strong wilderness character.
Astis leather mittens are hand-sewn in the USA from brown high-quality suede leather with hand-stitched beadwork on the wrist and are lined with Polartec® Thermal Pro® High Loft insulation. Working directly with a tannery in the USA, we developed a suede leather, injected with silicone during the tanning process for further waterproofing, that is extremely durable yet retains great dexterity.
As each leather mitten is hand-sewn and uses natural materials, each leather mitten will possess slight variation in the look of the leather, beadwork, and fur trim. Astis embraces these subtle differences and views them as unique mittens more akin to works of art.
- Note that the short cuff mittens run a little smaller and narrower than the long cuff mittens
