Displaying a beautiful beadwork band across the back of the hand, these black leather mittens are named for the mountain called Nebelhorn. Located in the Allgau Alps in Germany, near the village of Oberstdorf, it lends its name to the Nebelhorn Trophy Figure Skating Competition and the Nebelhorn Classics, a freeride race event. Also the Nine Knights freeski contest takes place just above the "Hofatsblick" station of the Nebelhornbahn. Its summit is a well-known viewing point from where there is a view far in to the Alpine massif.
Astis leather mittens are hand-sewn in the USA from black high-quality suede leather with hand-stitched beadwork and are lined with Polartec® Thermal Pro® High Loft insulation. Working directly with a tannery in the USA, we developed a suede leather, injected with silicon during the tanning process for further waterproofing, that is extremely durable yet retains great dexterity.
As each leather glove and mitten is hand-sewn and uses natural materials, each leather mitten will possess slight variation in the look of the leather and beadwork. Astis embraces these subtle differences and views them as unique gloves more akin to works of art.
