Displaying a radical beadwork band across the wrist, these brown leather mittens are named for Springer Mountain. Springer Mountain is a mountain is located in the Chattahooche National Forest on the border of Fannin and Gilmer counties. Located in the Blue Ridge Mountains in northern Georgia, the mounatin has an elevation of 3,782 feet and serves as the southern terninus for the Appalachian trail.
Astis leather mittens are hand-sewn in the USA from brown high-quality suede leather with hand-stitched beadwork on the wrist and are lined with Polartec® Thermal Pro® High Loft insulation. Working directly with a tannery in the USA, we developed a suede leather, injected with silicone during the tanning process for further waterproofing, that is extremely durable yet retains great dexterity.
As each leather mitten is hand-sewn and uses natural materials, each leather mitten will possess slight variation in the look of the leather, beadwork, and fur trim. Astis embraces these subtle differences and views them as unique mittens more akin to works of art.
- Note that the short cuff mittens run a little smaller and narrower than the long cuff mittens
