Displaying a radical beadwork band across the hand, these tan leather mittens are named for Mont Velan in the Pennine Alps located on the border between Switzerland and Italy. At 3,727 meters, Mont Velan is the highest summit lying between the Great St. Bernard Pass and Grand Combin.
Astis leather mittens are hand-sewn in the USA from tan high-quality suede leather with hand-stitched beadwork and are lined with Polartec® Thermal Pro® High Loft insulation. Working directly with a tannery in the USA, we developed a suede leather, injected with silicone during the tanning process for further waterproofing, that is extremely durable yet retains great dexterity.
As each leather glove and mitten is hand-sewn and uses natural materials, each leather mitten will possess slight variation in the look of the leather and beadwork. Astis embraces these subtle differences and views them as unique gloves more akin to works of art.
