Displaying a cool color blocking beadwork pattern across the wrist, these black leather mittens are named for Mount Bierstadt. The 14,065 foot high peak is located in the Chicago Peaks of the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. It is named in honor of Albert Bierstadt, the American landscape painter who made the first recorded summit of the mountatin in 1863.
Astis leather mittens are hand-sewn in the USA from high-quality black suede leather with hand-stitched beadwork on the wrist and are lined with Polartec® Thermal Pro® High Loft insulation. Working directly with a tannery in the USA, we developed a suede leather, injected with silicone during the tanning process for further waterproofing, that is extremely durable yet retains great dexterity.
As each leather mitten is hand-sewn and uses natural materials, each leather mitten will possess slight variation in the look of the leather, beadwork, and fur trim. Astis embraces these subtle differences and views them as unique mittens more akin to works of art.
- Note that the short cuff mittens run a little smaller and narrower than the long cuff mittens
